About EcoStyle
A student-driven initiative under the SGAP Leader’s Sustainability Program, working to reduce textile waste in our communities.
Our Mission
EcoStyle was created through the SGAP Leader’s Sustainability Program to tackle one of the fastest-growing waste categories: discarded clothing. Every year, millions of pounds of textiles end up in landfills where synthetic fabrics can break down into microplastics that enter soil and waterways.
Our solution is simple but powerful: place donation boxes directly in schools, making it easy for students and faculty to give clothes a second life instead of throwing them away. Each participating school has a designated Eco Captain — a student leader who champions the program, tracks collections, and keeps the community engaged.
By starting in schools, we’re building a generation that thinks twice before discarding — and understands the real environmental cost of fast fashion.
